Artist Profile & Statement – Parul Srivastava

“Change is the only constant, and evolution is its rhythm.”

This belief guides every aspect of my journey—as an artist, teacher, and lifelong learner. Just as nature evolves every day—in trees, rivers, clouds, and even in our thoughts and identities—so does my creative process. My art is an ever-shifting reflection of the world around me and within me.

Hello, I’m Parul Srivastava, a contemporary abstract artist based in Singapore. I hold a certification in Western Abstract Art from NAFA (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts), Singapore. Though largely self-taught, I have spent over a decade refining my practice and sharing my passion through teaching, workshops, and community art initiatives.

My work is inspired by my experiences—travel, study, observation, teaching, and a deep connection with the natural and emotional landscapes of life. I embrace acrylics, oils, inks, and mixed media to build layers of color, texture, and meaning. For me, creating art is about intuition, freedom, and presence—allowing each piece to unfold organically.

My paintings are expressive and gestural, often sitting at the edge of abstraction with hints of mysticism or figuration. While I may suggest themes or stories through titles, I invite viewers to engage with each work through their own lens, drawing personal meaning from the visual language.

I often begin with loose, messy sketches—quick marks in my journal capturing ideas or moods. Back in the studio, these fragments evolve into finished pieces through a process of layering and exploration, much like composing music. The result is a canvas rich with rhythm, emotion, and depth.

My work has been exhibited internationally in both physical and digital art fairs, featured in art publications, and collected by private collectors. You can explore my portfolio on Instagram: @parulartstudio, Facebook: Parulart and on my website: www.parulsriavstava.com/Event and exhibition.

Beyond the canvas, I lead creative workshops and team-building events under Craftszu, a platform I founded to make art more accessible and joyful for all. Whether online or in person, my goal is to help others discover the transformative power of creative expression.

At the heart of it all, I aim to create and to inspire—to foster a deeper connection between people and their own creativity, one brushstroke at a time.
